SuperNova supports the Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox web browsers.

When surfing the Internet, SuperNova provides a virtual cursor called the Dolphin Cursor, which enables you to read and navigate webpages using the keyboard.

If you do not rely on the keyboard to read the information on the screen, you may prefer to disable the Dolphin Cursor.

To do this:

  1. Open the SuperNova Control Panel.
  2. Open the "Speech" menu and select "Advanced Options" (ALT + S, A).
  3. From the "Cursor" tab, deselect "Use Dolphin Cursor automatically".

You can also toggle The automatic Dolphin Cursor on and off by pressing LEFT CONTROL + 4.

Tip: The Dolphin Cursor position on the screen is highlighted. You can change the style of the highlight through the Highlighting options in the SuperNova Control Panel.

If you prefer to use speech and the keyboard to read and navigate webpages, then the following keyboard commands can be used with the Dolphin Cursor:

  • Move by character: LEFT / RIGHT ARROW.
  • Move by word: LEFT CONTROL + LEFT / RIGHT ARROW.
  • Move by line: UP / DOWN ARROW.
  • Move to start of line: HOME.
  • Move to end of line: END.
  • Move to top of document: LEFT CONTROL + HOME.
  • Move to bottom of document: LEFT CONTROL + END.
  • Move to object: TAB and SHIFT + TAB.
  • Move to heading: H and SHIFT + h.
  • Move TO link: K and SHIFT + K.
  • Activate link, interact with edit box, or select list box: ENTER.
  • Activate button, check box, or radio button: SPACEBAR.

You can also use your mouse to reposition the Dolphin Cursor on the webpage. You can do this by moving your mouse pointer to the text and press the MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON.

Tip: If "Click and Read from here" is enabled, SuperNova will automatically start reading from the pointer position. To pause the reading, press ESCAPE or tap the middle button on your mouse again.

SuperNova also includes a list utility called Item Finder. You can use the Item Finder to list links and headings on a webpage. This can be useful when dealing with busy webpages with lots of links and headings.

You can use the Item Finder to activate links and to move the Dolphin Cursor to headings on the webpage.

To open the Item Finder: Press CAPS LOCK + TAB.
